Heirhead: /'er, hed/ (noun) one who has mastered the laws of intestacy

Losing your hair over the laws about heirs? Got issues with issue? Can't represent when it comes to representation? Then you've come to the right place.

This site allows you to practice applying the laws of intestacy under the Uniform Probate Code and the California Probate Code. The practice questions include a range of family structures, some that will look familiar and others that could only be dreamed up by a law professor trying to stump her students. The values of the estates also change across questions as do the kinds of property involved, so even if a family looks familiar make sure to read the question carefully.

This site is offered as a free educational service and does not provide legal advice. The allocation of property at death is determined by laws that vary by state and also depends on other circumstances, including family structure and legal property arrangements. Please do not confuse these stylized hypotheticals as any sort of prediction about your own personal situation.
